Forbidden Romance

Award-Winning Wall Street Journal bestselling author Kennedy Ryan launches a brand-new series with a Hollywood tale of wild ambition, artistic obsession, and unrelenting love.

One moment in the spotlight . . .

For months I stood by, an understudy waiting in the wings, preparing for my time to shine.

I never imagined he would watch in the audience that night.

Canon Holt.

Famous film director. Fascinating. Talented. Fine

Before I could catch my breath, everything changed. I went from backstage Broadway to center stage Hollywood.

From being unknown to my name, Neevah Saint, on everyone’s lips.

Canon casts me in a star-studded Harlem Renaissance biopic, catapulting me into another stratosphere.

But stars shine brightest in the dead of night.

Forbidden attraction, scandal, and circumstances beyond my control jeopardize my dream.

Could this one-shot—the role of a lifetime, the love of a lifetime—cost me everything?

MY THOUGHTS...

OMG, what words do I use to review the book? Even after reading the last page, excitement and raw emotion still humming within. For any reader, with just one click, this title checks all the boxes to have you ignoring everything to be in every moment with these characters. It was a realistic experience.

You begin to feel emotional in the very first chapter, and it continues throughout the storyline. For me, the journey began with accounts of a mother and son sharing moments as she deals with a crippling illness. Remy Holt's sunset shots and musing of her life experiences later became the first professional documentary Cannon submitted.

“We are artists,” she quotes softly, her eyes set on mine. “When there is no joy to be found, we have the power in our hands, the will of our souls, to make it.”

-Remy Holt

For Neevah Saint, following her dreams was not possible without tough skin and determination. Her latest gig as an understudy on Broadway lands her a lead part in a biopic directed by Cannon Holt. This chance of a lifetime opportunity came with its challenges; progression of a chronic illness, forbidden attraction, and broken connection to family. You will love and celebrate the fierceness in the way she tackles life.

Cannon Holt was focused, determined, and perfectionist to a fault. When it comes to his craft, he is only able to see things in black and white...no grays. After meeting the perfect lead for his latest project, he struggles with his attraction to Neevah, not wanting to repeat mistakes that could end everything he has worked toward. But he is smart enough to know that she is also the perfect lead for his heart.

There is so much to enjoy in REEL: the intense romance between Cannon and Neevah, getting to see all the behind-the-scenes tasks and crew, the chemistry not only between our main characters but the secondary characters played a role in making this book an epic performance.

Kennedy Ryan crafted a beautifully written story with intriguing characters, rich in historical past and present with cultural awareness. A bonus was the steamy romance, family and friend relationship dynamic, and understanding how professional women cope with working and dealing with health situations.

MY THOUGHTS...

🍷🍷🍷🍷

This complex Cabernet Sauvignon is robust with high tannins, so expect a bit of a punch. The nose picks up dark fruits and oak notes/cedar. On the palate is a mixture of dark fruits, vanilla, and tannins greeting you with the oaky and smoke finish. Love Cork Screw, a great first impression.

What drew me to this pair: We're Moving on Up, is a caption on the back of the bottle. It reminded me so much of the storyline and journey of the characters.

{There is no substitute for pleasure. The moments we share, the smiles we bequeath, and the memories we make all deserve to be thoroughly enjoyed. Leave behind the traffic in your mind and open yourself to the possibilities of delight. The burden is over. Take it easy, listen, pour, and sip. INDULGENCE KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES.}

Whether you enjoy these together or separately, enjoy indeed, but sip responsibly.
