A BOOK & BOOZE REVIEW: TEMPTED by SHARON C. COOPER
Dani Eubanks is our heroine in Tempted. Her day started like any other day, with one caveat...she loaned her car to a friend🤷🏾♀️. This is how a Red BMW and Steamy Romantic Suspense imploded into an edge of your seat read!
Let me just say the men of Atlanta's FINEST have a formidable group of men...but the women they choose to love are not to be taken lightly.

Temptation has a way of complicating things…
Detective Ashton Chambers is ready to quit the police force, but he won’t until he puts the man responsible for his sister’s murder behind bars. No easy task. In fact, the mission is proving to be almost impossible. Though his day job stresses him out, his social life has taken a turn for the better thanks to a sassy bar owner, Dani Eubanks.
After two broken engagements, Dani is not looking for a happily-ever-after. She tried. Twice. Failed. Twice. Won’t try again. She can’t rely on her judgment, and no way will she allow her heart to get crushed a third time. But Ashton is irresistible, and when a dangerous turn of events puts her in the crosshairs of an international gun trafficker, Ashton is the only one she trusts with her life…and her heart.
Tempted is the seventh installment of Atlanta's Finest Series. Each book in the series is standalone, and I recommend you grab them all as this series continues to add 5-star reads. Tempted just got added to the list.
Like most of you, I expected Ashton's story long before now, and I didn't anticipate Dani being his perfect match. But, the timing of this release and Dani made the storyline perfectly on point. It flowed so well with Ashton's career path, closing one and entering into a new chapter.
Tempted offers a level of suspense that was a bit more intense. It appears the Author took off the riding gloves and changed them for some heavy lifting. It starts with Dani being concerned with the unaccounted whereabouts of her friend and her new red BMW. Ashton is trying to close a case that happens to be personal before he leaves the force. Now, every time I see a red BMW Tempted will be a memorable moment.
I will leave that bit of information as it is because I don't want to spoil anything for you, but this one is a true page-turner and is shelf-worthy as with every other release in this series.
If you haven't read Tempted or any of the others in this series, I highly recommend that you do.
For those that anticipate my wine pairs, please allow me the indulgence for something a little more appropriate. The nature of this read required a bit more than the wine choice. I opted for Oban 14, fine scotch and smooth like the men of Atlanta's Finest, but with a kick like the storyline of Tempted.
Both Story and Scotch respectfully garnished a glaring 5-star.
Our Books & Booze Pair
Single Malt Scotch
It offers flavors of orange peel, smoke, sea salt, and honey distinguish this full-bodied Highland malt. It is smooth and warming with vanilla and spicy wood tannins. While it is smooth, its character is very powerful.
Oban 14 has proven to be a versatile choice, whether you are at a formal event or at home snuggled up reading Tempted, it can be enjoyed with a variety of foods, books, and cigars.
This can be on the pricey side cost coming in $70-100 and might be due to it not being produced in large quantities in the USA.
How You Should Drink Oban
On the rocks.
With a bit of water.
With club soda.
With ginger ale.
