Synopsis

Aisha couldn’t have known how much her existence would change the summer before her tenth birthday. Her family, and life as she knew it, was turned upside down after a tragic accident that left her an only child to her widowed mother. A family secret and an arrangement sent her two hundred fifty miles from her home only to be given into the hands of her treacherous new guardian, Angel. A new identity and routine were given in exchange for her freedom—Gemini was born.

Twelve years later, Gemini has secrets of her own that she needs to keep from her coworkers at the accounting firm of McFadden and Tate and Zephyr Gray, a top executive at the company. Gemini fights to keep her attraction for Zephyr hidden, but a turn of events uncovers her feelings and her secret. Now, she has to figure out how to reclaim her freedom without getting herself or Zephyr, killed.

My Thoughts: 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

This one displayed all the criteria for being in my top list of reads for 2019. MarZe Scott pulls out all punches with this debut novel and she captivates you from beginning to end. The characters are well developed and perfect to tell this heart-stricken tale of a woman forced to live a double life and trying to understand how and what propelled her there.

Aisha/Gemini has been spending most of her adult years determined to beat the odds, rewriting her destiny that she had stripped from her as a child. The amount of evil she had to endure from another human being, especially a mother sends you into an emotional tailspin.

During her strategic plans to reclaim her life back, she is sent a gentle breeze in a form of Zephyr. He lives up to his name with his love for Aisha as he is at the helm of the metaphoric transformation enfolding the person she was meant to be.

You will enjoy this great story that gives you as much suspense as it does romance!
