“Godling” is what the elders called him, as an insult and as a reminder that they did not truly believe that he belonged among them. He represented something new and something for the fearless to fear. There were other names besides godling that he had been branded with against his will. In hushed voices, fearful false gods referred to him as The Bastard King, The Sword of the Faithless, The Heathen’s Scythe, and The Savage Reaper but his favorite was still plain “Seven” because it was the number of so-called immortals he had killed to become immortal himself.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Keith Kareem Williams is the author of over 19 books and 5 screenplays. He still resides in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York where he delicately balances his time between his responsibilities as a single father as well as the challenges of being a full-time author.

“In interviews, one of the most difficult questions I’ve been asked is, ‘What genre are your novels?’ because honestly, I never write with any particular style in mind. I enjoy blending styles and mashing different genres together in interesting ways. Basically, I pen whatever is in my heart and soul. However, if I had to describe my style I would use musical terms and say that I write Urban, Hip-Hop, fiction with the rhythm of Reggae that crashed into Heavy Metal and then began to bleed Neo Soul. I call it Alternative Urban Fiction

I must say this pairing made for the perfect weekend read.

If Cursed Immortals: Tower of Seven is any indication of what to expect from this series then it is destined to become a lasting favorite!  This page turner is an exciting fantasy thriller that is filled with lots of twist; betrayal, gods, unstable alliances and do I dare say a little romance.

I especially liked the lead character Seven, and his complexity, a man due to unforeseen circumstances finds himself embodied with an immortal soul and a pledged allegiance to a sea goddess.  He stays true to this bond as her soldier in this immortal war all while trying to raise and providing some normalcy to a mortal daughter.  Unexplained things start to happen, making him question just where to lay his loyalty.

This book offers an eye catching cover and a well written story with enough character description to intrigue and engage you along the adventure.  I couldn’t help but think Seven’s journey looked a lot like spiritual warfare.

Once you start reading this, you find you won’t be able to do much else.  I recommend this for your reading pleasure.

Readers Note: this one has a prequel “Slow Kiss of the Apocalypse”, not necessary to read it before this one, but it would add a little more clarity into the characters plight.

🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

This Cooper’s Hawk collaboration with St. Michelle Wine Estates in Washington State is a luscious blend of Cabernet, Syrah, and Merlot.

All of the varietals in this blend represent the top red grapes of the state. Cabernet Sauvignon, being the primary voice, gives the wine structure and power. Syrah brings in dark color, warm herbs, and black pepper flavors while Merlot rounds the blend out with plump fruit, cocoa, and tobacco leaf flavors.

Just like the book, with each sip there was explosion of flavor to the pallet. This perfect blend of reds, made for a very relaxing weekend.

Delicioso D Squared Toro   Black Cherry

I stumbled on the Delicioso brand at a sip and smoke party and I must say it is quite the catch.  It has a good burn making each draw nearly perfect.  With this medium bold cigar, you’ll experience a woodsy tobacco flavor but the most satisfying is the somewhat sweet cherry flavor.  I would recommend this with coffee or a red wine and of course any great read.  I am sure this one will be the perfect pair with other reading adventures.

If you are interested in this brand, they come in several flavors.  My favorites are pina colada, black cherry and mint.

All and all I think this combo was a great pairing and I enjoyed the entire experience!
