Life & Music Book 1

Publication date : May 30, 2023
Have you ever been drawn to someone you knew was wrong for you?
That’s Nasira’s dilemma after she wades through Rory McGregg’s fans and sits next to him on a flight. An accomplished dancehall deejay, he’s charming, self-assured, and has a certain vibe that’s hard to resist.
By the time they touch down in Jamaica, Rory has her number and a promise to see him again.
The after-party she says yes to coordinating turns into a rollercoaster ride of frustration and interference, thanks to his celebrity status and bad-boy reputation.
His lifestyle and circumstances make Nasira uneasy, but Rory’s heart is fixed. There’s nothing he won’t do to prove they’re right for each other.
Rory and Nasira were like two atoms colliding; the music world was the place he was most comfortable in, and she wanted no part of it.
Rory has spent most of his life in the music industry, writing, producing, and uplifting up-and-coming talent. Now that he has matured, he believes everything needed to have a comfortable lifestyle is within his reach. That all quickly that all changes...
When a former career turns disastrous, Nasira rebuilds a successful business, and she is good at what she does, but it has become her comfort zone.
He is intrigued and can't resist the beautiful Nasira but treads lightly because this is unchartered territory.
When she encounters a scene before her, she is sure she wants no part of it. But a business proposition makes her take a second look. When she realizes who is making the proposition, it is too late to recover the web has already spun.
I enjoyed getting to know Rory and Nasira. This couple had to weave through hang-ups, fears, and uncertainties that come with relationships and be willing to sacrifice to exist in each other's worlds. JL Campbell did a great job in showing the healing process of this couple, all the while infusing the native culture of Jamaica.
I recommend this one for your reading pleasure. You will not be able to resist getting caught up in these characters.
