STILL STANDING: Stories of Love Over Cancer
Cancer doesn’t just affect the person with the diagnosis, it affects everyone surrounding the person with disease. There are many forms of this cancer and this book is one way to support the fight against the disease.
Cancer is described as a group or set of abnormal cells that invade the body. There are more than 100 different types and the treatment can be more deadly than the disease. But we are survivors. The Book Maniacs would like to honor those who continue to fight and those who have fought and passed on. We want everyone who has the disease along with their caretakers to know that we support them, love them and pray daily for them. #CILLASBOOKMANIACS
My thoughts: ❣❣❣❣
What is support? Webster’s definition: bear all or part of the weight of; to hold up.
This heartfelt labor of love was read with mixed emotions. I wasn’t sure I could handle reading this book. Being someone that has lost loved ones, had the responsibility of a caregiver and currently loving one through this disease, it was clear it is no respect of persons.
These testimonies remind us to never give up hope and continue to support the fighters; admire the survivors; remember the taken; and uplift the caregivers. Most importantly we are not alone and every day is a new beginning.
Sometimes support can be as simple as Proverbs 17:22 – A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
